Paintsville Golf Course

The Historic Paintsville Golf Course: A Premier Kentucky Experience

Established in 1929, the Paintsville Golf Course offers a unique golfing experience that caters to both novices and skilled players. As one of the first 18-hole golf courses in Eastern Kentucky, it stands as a true Kentucky original, thanks to the vision of Dr. Paul B. Hall— a Kentucky Golf Association Hall of Fame member— along with his brothers, C. Mitchel Hall and Dr. Lon C. Hall.

The course features a distinct layout where the front nine showcases rolling fairways and varied elevation changes, while the back nine presents a greater challenge with two lakes adding complexity to your game. Notably, players will navigate the famous swinging bridge, with two tee shots (on hole #10 and hole #17) requiring a carry over the Big Sandy River.

Located conveniently between Paintsville Lake State Park and Jenny Wiley State Park, and just minutes from the US 23 Country Music Highway, the Paintsville Golf Course benefits from the region’s natural beauty, enhancing the overall golfing experience.
