Husband Calling Contest & Homemade Pie Competition

Presented by Johnson County Trail Towns, hosted by the Van Lear Historical Society, and sponsored by Crossroads General Store, this family-friendly event celebrates Appalachian humor, heritage, and hometown spirit.

Each contestant receives one official holler with a 30-second time limit.

Judging will be based on:

No microphones allowed.
Natural lung power only.

Homemade Pie Contest Rules

• Homemade pies only
• One entry per baker
• Pie must be submitted by 2:00 PM
• Include baker name and pie flavor

Judging will be based on:

• taste
• crust quality
• appearance
• crowd appeal
